Reading Challenge
Feb 13, 2011
We will be having a Quail Run reading challenge beginning Monday, February 21st and ending Wednesday, March 2nd! To finish it off, we will have an ALL DAY READ-A-THON on Friday, March 4th! We are encouraging each student to continue our current goal of reading 30 minutes a day. Our goal is to read a combined 50,000 minutes total during the reading challenge. If the entire Quail Run student body reaches this goal, they will celebrate by wearing their pajamas to school for the ALL DAY READATHON! Remember, all of your reading counts whether it is at school, on your own, or with your family! You can log your minutes HERE.
Don't forget to also log your minutes for the school on the READ TODAY website located at www.readtoday.com. We'd love to see the Quail Run numbers growing there too!
Would you also like a chance to get a free book? During the 10 days of the reading challenge, teachers will be handing out Gold Tickets for students wearing full uniform, respectful behavior, being kind, appropriate behavior in the halls, and any other good things they see! Whichever grade earns the most gold tickets will have a drawing during the ALL DAY READ-A-THON to give away a few free books! So, when you earn a ticket, write your name on it and place it in your grade's collection box. Look for these near the commons area.
